Association of School Councils in Victoria

Independently pursuing excellence in educational governance since 1914

Membership

ASCIV is there for its members to provide quality and timely advice to enable your governing body to make informed and effective decisions that add value to your role as leaders and to achieve a positive impact for your students. We are committed to representing your School Council individually and collectively. ASCIV is happy to celebrate your achievements, as we are to help build your skills through accredited professional development.

ASCIV is also there to assist when you have a problem or an issue, whether you’re the Chairperson, the Executive Officer, a Parent, DEECD Employee, Community or Student member. You are all equally valued members of your School/College Council or Board.  ASCIV assistance is available to all.

True, you won’t read about it. ASCIV is not a secret society, but we really do respect confidentiality and we certainly value our member's trust more than the publicity we could generate for ourselves by highlighting every school governance issue dealt with and our enviable track record in helping to find satisfactory solutions.

ASCIV welcomed these new members
during 2010. Make 2011 your year to join.

No free steak knives.

No gimmicks.  No discount card. No distractions. No mixed allegiances. Just 100% support for members.

Our members are our fellow school councillors and we treat them as such.

You’ll never be taken for granted because we’re genuinely interested in your school or college.

Our membership fee is based on enrollment so that’s the only time we’ll talk numbers.

Is it all worth it?

Councils are joining each week... and not just when they are having problems and the list on the left, is probably your best answer.

ASCIV congratulates all the schools listed for making an informed decision on joining the PEAK governance association for schools in Victoria.

We look forward to representing your students and schools in all statewide activities and seeking to support your governing bodies in improving outcomes for your students.

If you have any questions or concerns about decision making, professional development or indeed to share good news from your school, please contact the ASCIV office on 03 9808 2499 or members@asciv.org.au.
